When I am in conversation, I have the tendency to explain a concept in a long winded way. I strongly admire my husband for his ability to say few words and hit the nail on the head. I believe it is because he is good with words. Learning a new word that defines a whole concept and being able to explain your thoughts is where it’s at. The latest simple word I’ve learned fully (I kinda knew what it was before), is the term being grounded. As an adjective, it describes a person who makes good decisions and does not say or do dumb things. I can imagine everyone would love to be “grounded.” This has been my little mission for a while now. I thought I would share my thoughts on how grounding yourself for more can transform your life!

For me, life is like traffic sometimes. Moving into the country really put a halt to a lot of the traffic in my life both literally and figuratively. Living 20 minutes outside of center city Philadelphia, was one big traffic jam and 1 million lights. We moved to upstate NY and suddenly I was driving slower, stopping to check out the creatures, and just chilling on the deck. It became apparent that I needed this in my life. What I ended up discovering was that even though things were slowing down, I needed to learn about the importance of simplifying my life.

One of the blessings of living out in the country is being able to immerse ourselves in nature. At the base of the hill, on the edge of our property is this creek that rushes during the spring months. I love opening the windows and hearing it move in full force down its path. When we moved here from Philly, I immediately fell in love with the peace I found here.
Read MoreA Beginner's Guide Toward Exercising
I have been hesitant to share my thoughts on the topic of exercise because I don't feel that I am an expert by any means. Over the last year, I realized one thing that was causing a lot of my weight issues. STRESS. If I let up on my regimented exercise routines, my stress and weight levels would increase. Instead of being alarmed by my stress levels, I would beat myself up over my weight. I had everything backward.

A curated life. This is something that I have been meaning to talk about here but have been trying to figure out the best approach. It is something we face everyday, on the internet. Being an online ministry, it's easy to get caught up in the cycle. I want to break it and share what I'm thinking. It's like when the photographer tells you to breathe deep and shake your arms and shoulders, just so you'll relax and not look so stiff. I want to unstiffify things here.

So during the month of January I have been spending my time traveling for work and it's given me a chance to learn a lot about myself. My life coach/therapist suggested I read The Gifts of Imperfection: Let Go of Who You Think You're Supposed to Be and Embrace Who You Are by Brene Brown right before my trip. So I got to it and purchased the e-book on Amazon so that I could save room in my luggage. It's a pretty easy read and only took me a week in between work. I thought I would share a little bit about it with you!

So I debated sharing this, but I thought what I learned from it could help others too. About two weeks ago, my external hard drive with all of my photos on it, DIED. I had been meaning to back up everything onto another one and even online, but I didn't do it. I was too busy. It made me cry crocodile tears and it felt like someone important to me had died. All of my work, as well as my memories, were gone.

So, for the last 10 years I have been struggling with hormonal migraines. Any of you in the same boat? I've tried lavender scented tea and candles, caffeinated beverages of all kinds, pain killers, cold/hot showers, sleeping, drinking lots of water, gluten free diets, progesterone cream, massages, days off, you name it. All in an attempt to ease the pulsing in my head, the foggy thoughts, and the feeling like I am pregnant, but clearly am not.

Lately I have been feeling like I have 5 arms that are getting stretched to the max. I love details and giving 100% to what I am doing but at the same time I feel like I am getting no where. I think I spend about 50% of my days at home worrying about getting everything done and feeling accomplished. My brain is one big fuzz pile. If a brain could be fuzzy that is.
