Yosemite National Park, CA
Coming to Yosemite National Park in CA again was such a wonderful highlight of our trip. We ended up staying two hours outside the park, but still came to visit a second day. These are a few of the popular spots in and around the valley that we enjoy. I would love to go back for a whole week and camp out. I want to see Mono Lake especially.
Bridal Veil Falls is usually pretty full during the Spring, which we have yet to see but it is still enjoyable to experience in the fall. It has quite the mist! We hiked up on the rocks, which I would strongly suggest you be careful to climb. It can be pretty slippery with the dampness in the air and people have been injured from not taking precautions. I also love the light in Yosemite. I mean, there just isn’t anything like it.
When we were here 6 years ago I photographed this same spot at dusk and it became one of Chris’s favorites. I wanted to capture it again with more sunlight. We are going to have to print this one big again.
El Capitan is probably my favorite monumental rock formation. It’s enormity and quiet presence put me in awe. At night it is even more awesome to see when there are trails of lights from climbers. We didn’t notice till we were on our way out of the park and I didn’t have room for a tripod.
This is probably Chris’s favorite view. You have to drive about 30 minutes up from the valley to Glacier point for it and thankfully we caught it before the sun went completely down. Again it is super important to be careful up there. I hope you enjoyed seeing these images and help to spark a desire to see this place for yourself. A picture will never do it justice and the memories are refreshing!
